Senior Robotics
Students age 9-14 may partiipate in an after-school robotics program during the fall semester. This program is structured as "sports for the mind," and emphasizes teamwork and problem solving skills. The team meets Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the overflow.Junior Robotics meets on Thursdays beginning in November and December from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The team of ten students will design and build a robot using the Lego Mindstorms kit, and will create a presentation on a related topic of interest. The team usually participates in one-two judged competitions in the winter where they are evaluated on their teamwork, the quality of their presentation, the technical aspects of their robot and how well their robot performs on a stanadard playing field.
Junior Robotics
Students age 7-9 may participate in this after-school robotics program during November and December. The team meets Thursdays 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Blue Room/Library. The team of six students will design and build a robot using Lego Mindstorms kit. They, too, will participate in a competition at Iowa State Univeristy in January.
