Activities

In addition to strong academics, we want to provide continual opportunities for students to have fun, learn skills, and build friendships. Through our extracurricular opportunities and CVCS-specific unique experiences ("Get To Know You Day," a senior trip, Junior High Days, our all school Thanksgiving, etc.), we strive to be intentional in building unity and relationships among our student body.
“A few days ago, I attended [local public school's] graduation. Three different students gave speeches, and each one was unique, but all were impersonal. By the end of the third student’s speech, I realized why none of the speeches felt impactful like I hoped mine would be: I know each of my classmates by name. I’ve walked side by side with each of you in the hallway. I’ve laughed, cried, failed, and learned right alongside you. I’ve run on courts and fields with you. I’ve sung with you. To me, that’s what makes Cedar Valley special. I am honored to stand before you all, and to have known each of you in a personal way.” - Libbie Spicka, 2026 salutatorian address
